Lotus Emira | News
Few cars are able to create as much hype as a new Lotus, but the Emira is much more as it represents an important turning point, or even better it marks the beginning of the new era that the brand most identified when it comes to driving experience is about to undertake in the very near future. It will be a mutation that you will have to get used to gradually and the new model here is the fateful intermediate point between the old school and the new generation around the corner.
The look is that of a small supercar with soft and clean lines, with aerodynamics that do a crucial job without the need for flashy wings or appendages. The dimensions are also contained, with 4.4 meters in length, 1.8 m in width and a height of 1.2 m. However, it is the overall weight that differs from the numbers we are used to when it comes to Lotus: 1,405 kg. On the other hand, however, it is a contemporary car in all respects, available with two different engines, the smaller in-line 2-liter 4-cylinder with 360 horsepower (AMG) and the 3.5 supercharged V6 with 400 horses we met on both the Exige and Evora. The First Edition – with the V6 – will be available with a manual gearbox or a very fast double clutch, good for a 0-100 kph in just 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 290 per hour. Prices starting at € 72,000.
