Lotus Family Meeting
Two-day event held in Veneto, precisely in the enchanting setting of Lake Garda. Ben 40 crews from all over Italy, but also from Luxembourg, Germany and Greece, were able to appreciate the gastronomic and location beauty of the territory chosen for the event.
On Saturday’s morning, April 2, participants gathered on the lakeside of Bardolino (VR) for accreditation, breakfast and exhibition of the cars, right before a fun hilly course full of corners heading towards the Golf Club Ca’ Degli Ulivi in Marciaga (VR) , where a well-deserved lunch was awaiting everyone involved. Following checkpoint the four-star Hotel Aqualux in Bardolino, where the crews spent the afternoon relaxing in the amazing SPA, before the evening briefing in order to learn the rudiments of the regularity challenge, that preceded the social dinner at the well-known restaurant “La Loggia Rambaldi”.
The morning of Sunday, April 3, the regularity test took place, topic moment that always characterizes the Reunion: participants challenge each other with road book in hand and with stopwatch as a weapon, along stages specially designed by the organization. At quick stages, aimed to become familiar with the discipline, organizers offered the possibility to drive across more than 26 km of the famous race of the Italian Uphill Championship “Caprino – Spiazzi”. Timings were of course taken with the typical equipment of regularity races, in particular the so-called “switches”. The test, as well as the whole meetings, has been characterized by sportsmanship, passion for the Lotus brand and the usual atmosphere immerged in friendship. The event ended with lunch and the awards to all the winning Teams. Club Lotus Italy has been therefore able to celebrate the official recognition by Lotus, achieved in early 2016, with a rally up to expectations and takes the opportunity to thank all the members of the crew, the supporters (Gino Lotus, PB Racing, Lotus Automare and Racing Greggio) and also the host municipalities (Bardolino and Caprino Veronese) for having contributed to the success of the event.
