Marsotto Automobili Instinct R: Hypercar With A Soul
The project is born in 2010 and will finally see the light at the end of this year. It’s called Instinct R and it’s the hypercar that will launch the Italian manufacturer Marsotto Automobili into automotive Heaven. With a production capacity estimated at about 30 units a year, the Instinct R has undergone major changes during its gestation, just to underline how nothing has been left to chance. The new engine unit will in fact be hybrid and composed of a 6-liter quad-turbo V12 capable of producing 1500hp and 1580Nm of torque, flanked by an electric unit capable of producing about 866hp, for a total power output that leaves no doubts and that widely exceeds 2000hp.
Overcome the amazement due to its power factor, the Instinct R sanctions as it does not intend to renounce the drivability of conceptually less demanding cars, maintaining a weight that does not exceed 1,400kg (including petrol and liquids), ensuring not only a thrilling power/weight ratio, but the agility needed to devour corners and not give up the reactivity of a chassis born with the most noble and light materials – we’ll talk about this later on. The traction is on the rear axle only and the power will be managed by a 7-speed sequential gearbox. Some numbers? Although there are still no official data (tested figures), the estimates of Marsotto Automobili speak of a top speed of 480 kph and an acceleration from 0 to 300 kph in less than 10 seconds. All that remains is to wait a few months and welcome a new creature in the elite world of hypercars.
