Maserati Levante GTS: Another V8 Powering Modena’s SUV
Maserati is always serious, even when it comes to the Levante, the controversial first SUV coming out of the Modena gates. After presenting the Trofeo version, last March, the first equipped with a V8, it is now time for the GTS, which maintains strong intentions that constantly look for improved performances. Just the engine itself is derived from that mounted on the Quattroporte GTS, in this case adapted for the four-wheel drive of the Levante.
Twin-turbo V8, 550hp at 6250 rpm, and 730Nm of maximum torque available between 2500 and 5000 rpm, for a 0-100 in just 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 292 kph. Moreover, as for the Trofeo we have a different spoiler fascia, both at the front and at the rear, but above all a lowered trim and stiffer springs, all in favor of a handling that does not fear sudden changes of direction or a sportier driving than before, while the cockpit remains such an incredible place to be, thanks to an extreme care for details and the great luxury produced by leather and carbon fiber.
