McLaren 600LT: Long Live The Long Tail
It was a matter of time, but we are never really prepared for certain things. Here is the brand new McLaren 600LT, the first of the Sport Series to pay tribute to the prestigious Long Tail. The 600LT then gains a few centimeters (something like 7.4cm) and will be easily recognizable because of an aerodynamic kit that has as its primary objective to generate even more downforce than before. It is therefore a 570S voted for ultimate performance, thanks to a revised look that includes a new front splitter, side skirts and a new rear bumper, which highlights the focal points of this extremely menacing model, the presence of an XXL size rear diffuser and a fixed spoiler placed on the tail. Last but not least, the two tailpipes that are located above the engine cover and point upwards emphasizing the aggressive look of the 600LT and giving several decibels more every time you’ll push the gas.
The weight drops 96kg down, reaching a total of 1247kg, while the power of the 3.8cc twin-turbo V8 reaches 600hp and 650Nm of torque. Traction of course is on the rear axle and the gearbox is a double clutch. But that’s not all, because the suspension has also been improved, as well as the brakes, borrowing solutions adopted with the 720S bigger sister.
We are facing an object of desire, which, like the exclusive Senna, manages to blend function and passion at its best. The 600LT will be produced in limited series and will dispense high doses of enjoyment on the road and on track. God bless McLaren!
