McLaren 620R | Woking’s Most Extreme Sport Series
Previewed at the end of 2019, we have been finally able to touch it by hand, right now that the first lucky owners are starting to collect one out of the 350 units that will be produced to celebrate what it represents in all respects the most extreme model based on the 570S. In reality it is more correct to define it as a 570S GT4 for the road, to which the necessary precautions have been placed to make it usable even away from the curbs of a track. In this case, we are talking about a more comfortable interior that offers the possibility to choose between three different types of seats, including those of the Senna, without having to pay extra money and obviously the four-point harnesses, a must for every self-respecting track tool.
The most substantial changes are, however, outside and in the mechanical compartment, with the huge adjustable wing at the rear, upgraded suspension, special semi-slick tires specially developed in collaboration with Pirelli, air intakes and numerous carbon fiber details useful to save weight and improve aerodynamic flows. Powered by the mighty 3.8cc twin-turbo V8, it delivers the 620 horsepower suggested by its name and a maximum torque of 629 Nm through a 7-speed sequential automatic transmission, with a 0-100 kph of just 2.9 seconds , a 0-200 kph of 8.1 seconds and a top speed of 320 per hour.
Among the options, you can still go for the satellite navigator and the Bowers & Wilkins audio system, but it’s fair to imagine that those who want to put a 620R in their garage will be more interested in the endless options offered by the MSO department, such as the MSO Roof Scoop Upgrade or the R Pack, goodies that add around € 30,000 each to the starting price of around € 305,000.
