Michelin Pilot Sport-4: Everyday Performance
Tyres represent the shoes of a car. And if it seems absurd to imagine chasing someone wearing 12-centimeter heels, try throwing a sports car into a winding road with rubber more suitable for a supermarket cart. Once seated behind the wheel and with head and body deeply focused for the ultimate apex, all that matters is that communication with the road below you and guess where does it come from? Exactly, from the tyres!
Driving a sports car like the Alpine A110, all these sensations are further emphasized. Starting from the attention that designers have put in here keeping the overall weight low, or because of the responsiveness of the frame, if we didn’t have a set of right tyres available, our run on the Mottarone curves would have taken a different turn. In this case, the Michelin Pilot Sport-4 proved to be the right choice, combining great comfort and a quiet running with an incredible grip, also showing excellent numbers even during braking points. This does not, however, come at the expense of the same tread’s life. Taking advantage of them for their performance side, the Pilot Sport-4 seem to be tireless and able to enhance every minimum change on the road surface (especially when talking about a car like the A110), but at the same time – thanks also to the special protection curb for the rim – they proved to be exceptional even in the city, where you will stay away from the rev limiter and from those stressful situations that will confirm once again that you’ve chosen the right shoes for your sports car.
