Milan AutoClassica: 5 Stars Event

Also this year the AutoClassica Fair in Milan did not disappoint expectations. Historic cars in display and for sale, modern cars presented by cars manufacturers and individual sellers, there were also some retailers with plenty of spare parts, toys, models, paper goods, automotive clothing and much more. I could notice a good order in how the spaces have been used, which allows the visitor not to miss anything, which usually happens to be the very things that would interest us more.
Starting from the entrance hall, we find really remarkable pieces such as a Dino Formula next to a mind blowing 250 GTO and a yellow 512, you can’t but look at this trio in silent admiration, then you can finally start back walking. Lamborghini is on the lft, with great pieces including the LM 002, the legendary Miura, the new Aventador S and a Huracan GT3; on the right the Ferrari Museum stand with the legendary #27 of Gilles Villeneuve, but for those who want to taste some sort of racing experience here you have a couple of F1 simulators with a mega screen. Fassina Group offers a few jewels like the Bentley Bentayga, in addition to the elegant Continental GT – then you also have on display a McLaren 570 Spider and 720S. The visit continues quiet, although people starts to be more and more numerous, fortunately I was very early; it’s time to visit Raul Marchisio (owner of RM Autosport Monaco) and his incredible exposition, from Mercedes AMG GTR to Ferrari F12, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Rolls Royce Phantom, Corniche II, Lancia Stratos, AMG SLS Roadster. Even colors are highly scenographic, black predominates as much as impressive shades of green. After the recent and impressive driving experiences at the wheel of the Lotus Exige 350 Sport and Evora 400, my interest is taken by even more extreme and limited series models, which also include remarkable aesthetic changes, like those at the PB Racing Lotus area, not only rich in rear wings, but with lots of girls, accessories, spare parts, gadgets, in short, there was nothing missing. Of course, Maserati is also to be mentioned, showcasing extraordinary pieces like the beautiful 1953 A6 and again tons of accessories, paintings, models, clothing and great courtesy by the staff.
I also stopped in front of a car I know well, ACM has used it for a test drive that will come out in the coming months and that I was literally astonished to face in front of me, the Tesla Model X, you can’t describe it, no one believes it unless you’ve driven one. Do it, even the most skeptical people will have to change their mind. There is of course the Model S sedan and I hope to see the new Roadster soon. Great space for the small but angry Caterham in the many versions and engines, alongside the timeless Morgan, a charm that you can only find on an English car. Among the sellers we met again the fantastic selection at Vintage and Prestige Classic Cars with their impressive Rolls Royces, Bentleys and Lagondas from 20s and 30s, real sculptures in motion, but reliable and in extraordinary conditions. Other incredible pieces are other Ferraris, like 288 GTO, 275 GTB, 250 GT, 250 SWB, and special mention for the “Abetone green” F40 by Automobili Amos. For the American department, a pink 1959 Cadillac in superb conditions, as well as that mid-50s in blue, and then the legendary T-Bird stands out like that of the great Fred Buscaglione.
Finally, as always inevitable, after seeing so many masterpieces, I still ask to myself why some absurd pricing for less prestigious models. In addition to the main halls, vast exposure on the outside too, something at the right price, but some other crazy joker too. The event is, however, to be promoted with full marks and maintains the high expectations that have gained over the enthusiasts along the last few years.
