MINI John Cooper Works GP | 306-HP Go Kart
Look closely, because in front of you there is the most powerful and craziest MINI ever produced in the history of the British company. The new John Cooper Works GP has in fact a 4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 306 horsepower and 332 Nm of torque, available at just 1,750 rpm. Traction that obviously remains on the front axle only, but facilitated by a mechanical limited-slip differential with dedicated GP map and an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. The increase of 74 hp compared to the previous generation happens thanks to an optimized intake and the upgrade to the turbocharger and the exhaust system.
Performance figures say 5.1 seconds to go from 0 to 100 kph, with a top speed of around 225 per hour, but what makes the new GP a real track weapon is obviously the stiffness of chassis and suspension literally voted to the racing track, increased braking system, the absence of rear seats and an aerodynamic kit which is anything but sober, including enlarged fenders, specific bumpers and a massive rear spoiler. Only 3,000 units will be produced with prices starting at around € 40,500 and deliveries starting in March 2020.
