Morgan Plus Four CX-T | News
If we think of a Morgan, the last place it would come to mind it is a dirt road, let alone throw it on stones, sand or rough terrain. But reality is that the English manufacturer has an important history in those competitions that, around the first decade of the last century, saw the Morgans battle on authentic stony ground. Based on this hereditary pass, Morgan presents the Plus Four CX-T, the crazy version that seems taking an Ariel Nomad and a normal Plus Four and put them in a blender. The result is amazing.
Designed in close collaboration with Rally Raid UK – a company specializing in off-road preparation – the CX-T features new suspensions, specific tires, increased ground clearance (230 mm) and a fairing underbody useful to prevent stones to stop the unexpected urge to run fast where you never thought possible. This is also thanks to three locking modes for the differential and to all the other changes that upset the Plus Four, without necessarily forgetting the elegance of that timeless look maintained over the course of more than a century, now with a few more mud stains.
Unleashing the CX-T on the road and away from the asphalt is the BMW-sourced 2.0-liter turbo that we know well, capable of delivering 258 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox. There will be only 8 ones of these, with prices starting at around € 200,000, excluding taxes. They are certainly not coins, but the fun you receive in return seems priceless.
