Not even 2 weeks ago I took part in the 5th annual Col de Turini Tour and for the fifth time I’ve been there with an all-wheel-drive car. You know what? The Audi TT 45 TFSI has been the less powerful car I’ve used for the iconic tour developing across the famous Montecarlo rally stage. The fact, however, is that it’s one of the best for the occasion. A short wheelbase, fast S-tronic gearbox and a very communicative feeling once in Dynamic, make the entry level TT (provided you opt for the QUATTRO as well) one of the best all-rounder you can possibly look for.
We all know the Col de Turini doesn’t reward big, wide and extremely powerful supercars, so the best choice is always that of a compact-sized coupe or a small sports car. The TT ticks every box, and despite having “just” 245 horsepower I’ve never felt in struggle keeping the pace of Maseratis and the likes. An epic driving experience as usual, made even better by the choice of the car, fundamental aspect when you have to blast through 199 km like a lunatic. Plus, at the end of the day and after something like 12 hours in the car, the Audi welcomes you in a comfortable environment, letting you drive relaxed until you enter the garage at home.
