New Audi RS 5: Audi Sport’s First High-Performance Plug-In Hybrid
Audi unveils the new RS 5, the sporty evolution of the RS 4 and the first high-performance plug-in hybrid in Audi Sport history. It combines a 510 hp 2.9 TFSI V6 biturbo with a 177 hp electric motor, delivering a total output of 639 hp and 825 Nm of torque—189 hp and 225 Nm more than the RS 4. 0-100 km/h takes only 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 285 km/h.

The quattro all-wheel drive is enhanced with Dynamic Torque Control, an electromechanical torque vectoring system distributing torque between rear wheels in just 15 milliseconds, improving agility, cornering precision, and stability. The preloaded central differential ensures predictive torque distribution, reducing understeer and oversteer.

The chassis is 10% stiffer than the A5, with Audi Sport-specific axles, RS dual-valve suspension, direct RS steering, and optional carbon-ceramic brakes. The boost function delivers maximum power at the push of a button for 10 seconds, while new RS drive modes optimize handling, traction, and exhaust sound.

The 25.9 kWh battery allows AC charging up to 11 kW, with Battery Charge enabling energy replenishment on the move, maintaining electric support for torque vectoring and boost.

Design highlights include widened tracks by up to 93 mm, motorsport-inspired bumpers, racing rear diffuser, and RS dual central exhaust. The Digital Stage interior features an 11.9” Audi Virtual Cockpit and a 14.5” MMI display with performance, acceleration, and torque information.

Available as sedan and Avant, the RS 5 will reach Italian dealerships in Q3 2026, starting at €111,100 for the standard version and €119,600 for the Performance model.
