A sunny day accompanied our press drive with the new Ford Fiesta. The meeting point was at the Ford Varco in Milan, where after the presentations, the staff illustrated the technical characteristics and innovations of the new series, which has the task of satisfying the needs and requirements of a substantial slice of the market, just like the previous 7 generations did.
The new Fiesta also focuses on the look of the Vignale version, where some details, such as the front grille and the dashboard cover are truly captivating. The dashboard and all the other things accommodating driver and passenger, including the 6.5 inches display, are more pleasant and better integrated. Certainly a strong point of the model is the fluidity, the always proverbial maneuverability and with 140 hp also gives a pleasant roar from the exhaust. The seats are very compact and every driver will find the right position. The drive with the 10 Fiestas that brought us from Milan to Pavia, even if in some places it was busy and certainly did not allow to push on the throttle, gave an idea of the quality of the product, which no doubt made a further leap forward.
A journey that has lasted 41 years and has literally passed through generations of motorists, offering a recipe that is always up to date and able to meet the needs of everyday life. At the moment there are 4 versions available and are represented by the entry level Plus, then we have the richer Titanium, the ST-Line (which focuses on a sportier design) and then the Vignale, the most sought after and rich in terms of specifications. Initially there will be two petrol engines available, a 1.1cc producing 70 and 85 hp, or a 1.0cc outputting 125, 140 or 100 hp, the latter also available with a 6-speed automatic transmission. As for the diesel you can choose between a 85hp 1.5cc and the one with 120.
Finally, Ford ensures that the ST version will arrive soon, ready to reconfirm itself as one of the best hot-hatches out there, while we will see the brand new Active, a small crossover with raised body and underbody protection on display.
