Opel Corsa OPC
THE LITTLE OPEL WANTS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY
Its official debut is scheduled for the highly anticipated Geneva Motor Show in early March: the new Opel Corsa OPC grows a bit ‘everywhere, although the most finicky will immediately notice that the number at the “Power” voice has only increased over the previous one, but not to the OPC Nurburgring Edition, which however, represented a special series. The new 1.6 turbo has 207 horsepower (+15), but a greater and better torque delivery (250Nm), which thanks to an overboost is able to reach 280Nm. The six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive, are as always combined with a small size and reduced weight body; all this will turn the new Corsa into a fun handling machine. But not only the engine and performance data have enjoyed an upgrade, also suspension, wheels (18”) and the passenger compartment, finally seem to be in step with times. The road test will provide a final verdict, although the Company enticed all of us by declaring a top speed of 230 kph and a 0-100 kph in 6.8 seconds.
