Orders, Captain!
“Do you know that feeling of loss, when your wife tells you that it is time to sell your Porsche and buy something more useful for the family? I do, unfortunately, but I found the best solution, while waiting to go back to the Stuttgart’s embrace as soon as possible. Who says that a family car, with at least four seats and a spacious boot, has to be boring? It was not easy, but I promptly deleted all the SUVs (I can’t stand ‘em) and at the end I fell in love with the more unusual Audi sedan: the S7. If the front could be confused with that of an A6 or A5, take a look to the side and the rear and it will immediately become unmistakable. This was one of its good points; the rest has been done by the exceptional 8-cylinder bi-turbo engine, the same that mounts the Bentley Conti GT, able to deactivate four of its cylinders in a situation of normal driving and thus limiting fuel consumption. These are the main reasons that have led me to take home an S7, my first experience with the Four Rings, besides the fact that I could never ever give up to the high standards to which I had become accustomed with my 911. Obviously, here, there is also more space, you can fit a baby-stroller, luggage and my wife feels happy by mi side, even when I let myself playing with some throttle awakening the 450hp V8. If performance is worthy of those I was used to, one of the things that surprised me most it is the way it allows you to grind speed, without you even realize that you have exceeded the allowable limit, and then having to immediately forget about keep pushing that right pedal! It’s a great sedan, spacious inside (behind the interior space is not the best) and makes you feel at the helm of a powerful spaceship, always ready to set sail to discover new places to live fantastic moments with the people you love. In this case, practicality does not make you give up any kind of entertainment and that’s why I consider the S7 the best alternative to a sports car.”
