Pagani Huayra BC: And The World Stood Still
Horacio Pagani has largely proven to be not only a genius, but to perfectly embody the spirit of those artists who have created, such as Leonardo da Vinci, unforgettable masterpieces. He did it with the Zonda and then with the Huayra, but in one way or another always manages to amaze and make us think that he may have made a pact with the devil. Why? Because the Huayra BC is something so mental that it is difficult to describe. While you can get lost for hours while admiring its lines, we realize that substantially it is a different car from the Huayra from which it derives. In fact, with the exception of the roof, there is not even a panel in common with the “standard” version. And then, instead of adopting hybrid technology, like other hypercars, engineers have been working on a new type of carbon fiber, 50% lighter and 20% stronger, allowing to save around 130kg. The aerodynamic that characterize the BC (named in honor of the first Pagani customer, Benny Caiola) plays an important role, just like the 6-liter twin-turbo AMG V12 that has been increased up to 789 horsepower and 999Nm of torque, unleashing the power on the rear axle through a new 7-speed automatic gearbox. Lots and lots of technology to the limit of unthinkable, such as that used for the new electronic differential, able to better manage the driver’s requirements. The cabin has been further enhanced, despite the continuous search for the most extreme and pure sportiness, especially noticeable at the rear with that immense rear spoiler. Unfortunately, there are two small problems: it will be produced in only 20 units (all already sold) and in any case it would cost about 2.3 million Euros. Again this time, too expensive for our pockets!
