Polestar 2: All-Electric Tesla Hunter Goes Into Production
After having tasted the Concept 1, driven by a hybrid unit capable of producing 600 horsepower, the first real car to enter production for the newborn Swedish brand with a firm eye to the future and environment sustainability, is going to be the Polestar 2 and it’s an electric only sedan that holds the Tesla Model 3 in the viewfinder, with the whole intention of making a statement and widening the road to a range entirely free of internal combustion engines.
There will be two electric motors driven by a 78 kWh battery, enough to generate what would be translatable into 400 horsepower and about 660Nm of torque, useful for a 0-100 kph in just 5 seconds. Always keeping the concentration high in terms of performance and driving involvement, Polestar will offer an optional Performance Pack, including Ohlins dampers, Brembo brakes and 20-inch forged wheels. The interior is minimalist, in perfect Scandinavian style, with a large 11-inch vertical screen in the center of the dashboard and an all-digital display behind the steering wheel. Maximum connectivity and incredible choice for innovative materials – even vegan-friendly – to finish seats and dashboard giving the car an even more exclusive appeal. The range declared should be at around 300km, or maybe a little bit less, then going to place a little below the standard of the Model 3.
