Porsche 911 GT3 | News
Finally the new 911 GT3 is here. The generation based on the 911 series 992 is the ultimate incarnation of a racing car lent to the road. What is in fact maintained is the ability to be both an exceptional grand tourer and a fierce curbs eater, all while perfectly balancing that racing spirit that will be further emphasized with the RS version.
But let’s focus on the GT3, the aesthetically angriest one ever to come out of the gates in Zuffenhausen and obviously developed in the guts of the Nordschleife, where it also set a new record, lapping the complete ring in less than 7 minutes (6: 59.927) with Lars Kern at the wheel. In short, its look certainly leaves no room for imagination, since the GT3 is the maximum expression of the purest driving experience and the visceral devotion of purists to the beloved naturally aspirated 6-cylinder boxer, here capable of delivering 510 horsepower at 8,400 rpm and 470 Nm of torque at 6,100 rpm, without forgetting the possibility of reaching the red line via a 6-speed manual gearbox, an alternative to the 7-speed PDK double clutch.
The extreme aesthetic evolves the elegant silhouette of the 992 and transforms it into a hypertrophic supercar boasting a load of air intakes and with an immense spoiler and diffuser at the rear to generate an aerodynamic pressure that can be optimized with the Performance driving mode, ideal for use on track. Wider, with a new front end and a mechanical baggage that even overshadows the previous 911 GT3 RS, the new GT3 takes 3.4 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 kph and reaches a top speed of 318 per hour, but obviously it’s not only a matter of numbers, but of thrills and this GT3, like the generations that came before it, knows how to create them. Coming in May with prices starting at € 172.587.
