Porsche 911 GT3 RS | News
And once again the moment has come, the fateful one in which Porsche removes the veils from the GT3 RS, the model that more than any other has always embodied the most racing identity of the Stuttgart brand, the track weapon for everyday roads, the atomic 911 for your daily commute. Got that right?! Top of the range model for the 992 generation, the new GT3 RS is the maximum expression of the development carried on with the GT3 R deployed in motorsport and presents an aerodynamic package never seen before on a road going model.
No electric motors, no hybrid technology, but a glorious naturally aspirated 4-liter grounding 525 horsepower (+15 compared to the GT3), essentially obtained thanks to new camshafts. Available only with 7-speed dual clutch PDK transmission, the GT3 RS declares a 0-100 of just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 296 kph, wearing 275 and 335 tires respectively at the front and rear and brakes with fixed calipers and 380 mm discs. The carbon ceramic system is always available on request.
Compared to the traditional GT3 there are 15 kg more weight, but downforce values have instead tripled, with 409 kg at 200 kph and 860 kg at 285 per hour, all allowed thanks to the gigantic rear wing and numerous active aerodynamics elements scattered literally everywhere, making the aesthetics not only incredibly aggressive, but extraordinarily effective on the road and on the track. It is the first time that a street-legal Porsche has been equipped with DRS, a drag reduction system that allows, via a button, to reach higher speeds on the straights. Inside we find a racing cockpit in perfect RS style, with black leather, Racetex fabrics and lots of carbon fiber. The GT3 RS can already be yours with prices starting at € 239,435. The optional Weissach package needs some extra money and offers front hood, roof and rear spoiler parts in carbon-look as well as forged magnesium wheels that save 8 kg in weight.
