Porsche 911 Targa | News
Considered by many as the most elegant of the 911s, the Targa version also arrives for the new 992 series, with its 4 and 4S variants. The recipe remains unchanged and in fact we have that exceptional combination of a coupe and a cabriolet perfectly soundproofed from the outside environment and with a line left untouched by the mechanism that allows it to open just the upper portion of the roof, transforming driving moments into pure automotive ecstasy. We have already tested the qualities of the 992 and we know that the sports car from Stuttgart is able to offer the driver not only authentic supercar-like performance, but total drivability for the everyday life, where you can enjoy the incredible qualities of one of the most complete cars on the market.
Let’s go back to the Targa and to the 19 seconds necessary to allow the opening mechanism to turn the driving experience en plein air, with the rear glass moving backwards, in one of the most twisted but effective movements you can find. The weight inevitably increases and brings 110 kg extra on the scale (going from the 1,555 of the coupe to 1,665). It is only available with all-wheel drive, as the Targa 4 is powered by the 3.0 385 bhp and 450 Nm of torque 6-cylinder, while the Targa 4S has the same 3-liter engine, but brought to 450 hp and 530 Nm, with performance respectively of 4.4 and 3.8 seconds for the 0-100 kph, top speed of 289 and 304 kph and the possibility of choosing it with a 7-speed manual gearbox or with the PDK, always a 7-speed. Prices starting from € 132,571, which is 15 thousand more than the 992 coupe counterpart.
