Porsche Purists Will Go Mad for the 911 R
What is the best way to choose your next Porsche? Buy them all! Or, if the space in your garage is not as much, have a look at the new 911 R. The last born in Stuttgart shares much with the extreme GT3RS, but under a less extravagant look, without excessive spoilers and a decidedly racing appearance, will delight your weekend of carefree driving, without having to wait for the arrival of Saturday to get back behind the wheel. We mean that the 911 R is the sports car from supercars’ performance (0-100 kph in 3.8 seconds and top speed of 323 kph) more usable than ever, thanks to a sporty look, never excessive. The 6-cylinder naturally aspirated 4-liter delivers 500 horsepower at 8500 rpm and 460Nm of torque at 6250 rpm, all combined with a manual gearbox only (6-speed) and rear-wheel drive. Driving involvement at 1000% is the main target here, and given the close link with the GT3RS, both the weight and the stiffness of the chassis will not be new, but a pleasant confirmation. Inside the usual attention to detail, simplicity and some retro appeal, that in this period of engines revolution, never hurts.
