Renault Clio V6 Sport: Driver First
What’s that?
It is not a simple Clio, you notice it immediately. Its size, so imposing, has no intention to conceal the true nature of the most exciting Clio ever: the V6 Sport is extremely wider, lower, harder, noisier and more powerful than all of its sisters (including the excellent but more sensible Williams). What makes it special, obviously, is the engine, which in fact is a powerful 6 cylinder 3 liter, located immediately behind the front seats (the only two).
How does it drive?
Being rear-wheel drive and with a weight just over 1300kg, makes this hot hatch, the worthy heir of the legendary R5 Maxi Turbo. Produced in two different versions, called Phase 1 and Phase 2, the second series delivers 254-hp and a maximum torque of 300Nm, available shortly after 4500 rpm. The rigid chassis and the constant roar of the V6 behind your ears, are criminal intimidation, making you drive constantly on the cutting limits, yours and of the code of the road.
Most Wanted or not?
Assuming that this RenaultSport has more than 10 years is something impressive. Pure speed is not its main goal, despite it claims remarkable performance. Primary, it aims to emotions, the deepest ones. And it succeeds 100%. The particularity of a similar shape, its layout and a limited production, make it even more desirable. We hope that Renault keeps this in mind and gives us something similar soon.
