RX’s Return Should Not Be So Far Away
The Mazda RX7 and RX8, despite being controversial and mechanically unusual retain a special place in the hearts of fans, especially for those who had the opportunity to drive one or those lucky enough to own one. Since 2011, when the production of the RX8 has been interrupted, we waited and hoped for a return of the two famous letters which have always guaranteed a unique driving involvement and a lot of performance and the Tokyo Motor Show has been the place for pleasing our eyes with the new RX-Vision, a concept car with generous Gran Tourer’s lines, two seats and the welcome return of the rotary engine (the completely new and technological SkyActiv-R) under the long bonnet. A design that could undergo some changes, especially in terms of size and dimensions, but that reveals the potential near future for a car that enthusiasts of sports driving need like the air to breathe. The interior, though futuristic, is devoid of any distraction, to emphasize once again that the main ingredient will be the driving experience, leaving no place for useless smartphone’s connectivity.
