Scream Aim Fire: The Honda S2000 Is The Ultimate Drivers’ Car | Your Cars
It’s one of those cars considered among the best by … basically everyone! The Honda S2000 is a recipe for adrenaline, made out of a two-seater cabrio lightweight body, rear wheel drive and an old-fashioned and constantly screaming naturally aspirated engine. Put it this way: every day out driving this ends up being one of the best thrilling activities you can gift yourself with.

We recently met Aleaxandre, a French bloke who knows something about and also loves to share his memories with friends. Here’s the recent chat we had with him.
Hi, please introduce yourself.
My name is Alexandre and I’m 28 years old, you can find me on my Facebook page Northern Low Car , where I started uploading my personal pictures since 2012, mainly cars and landscapes. I’m from the north of France and I drive a VW Golf 4 as a daily and a Honda S2000 for week-ends and holidays.
How did your passion for cars started?
My passion for cars started when I got my driving license in 2010. I started with an old VW Golf 3 GT TDI, which I wanted to refurbish, then I bought a Golf 4 and in 2015 I bought this Honda S2000 since I wanted to move on a proper sports car.
Tell us something more behind your choice.
I chose the Honda S2000 because a friend of mine had one at the time I got my driving license, in 2010. He never made me drive his one, but just the fact of being a passenger gave me unique sensations! Since that day I said to myself – I need one! Unfortunately it still was a bit out of my budget.
I bought this S2000 second handed in 2015, it was totally OEM and with just 45,000 km. I’ve equipped it with an FIPK K&N air intake, an Invidia Q300 Catback, a Tegiwa sports catalyst, Bilstein B14 shock absorbers, original front bumper and carbon Downforce lips, side-skirts and a Type S spoiler. I also applied a complete detailing with ceramic paint protection. Today it has 77,000 km.
What’s the thing you like the most of it?
Well, this car has a unique look, versatility, comfort and feel.
If you had to look at another car after your Honda, which one would it be?
Ahhh, that’s a good question! I love the Lancer Evo IX and the Skyline R34 but they are very expensive and I don’t know if I’ll ever find a car that would give as much feel as the Honda S2000.
Tell us some of the best drives you experienced so far.
So far, the best driving moments in my Honda S2000 have been my 4 road-trips since I bought the car in 2015. Right now, as far as incoming drives, I have no roads in mind, but rather regions, such as the Pyrenees, Haute-Savoie in France, Austria, Klagenfurt and Switzerland.
What about that VW Golf R?
This Golf VI R belongs to one of my road trips’ friend, it’s a very nice car and its DSG automatic gearbox fits well with its 4WD. He loves it but that’s not what I’m looking for in a sports car, sorry.
Do you prefer an escape on your own, or sharing it with some other enthusiasts and their cars?
I’d say both, I very much enjoyed the “S2k Days” in 2018 with the S2000 Passion French forum, but I still prefer to go alone and enjoy the car at my own pace on wild roads.
