Info: Initially an RAF airbase, the Snetterton circuit was opened in 1953 and over the years has been developed in different layouts denominated depending on the different lengths: 100, 200 and 300, respectively 1 mile, 2 miles and 3 miles. Despite some legal hassles due to noise issues, the circuit in question was and still is stage for major championships such as the British Touring Car Championship, the British Formula 3 and the British Superbike Championship. In addition, from 1980 to 1994, was the first British track to host a 24-hour endurance race, the Willhire24 Hour.
Focus: Whatever the layout, Snetterton offers very fast stretches alternating with slow corners, challenging for brakes and frame, ideal to test not only the skills of drivers, but also the limits of the cars. In fact, back in the days, F1 Team Lotus and Team Norfolk Racing Co (Le Mans) used Snetterton as proving ground for their racing cars.
