Squalo’s Jaws by Vitt Performance
If you want to see something terribly kitsch not having to watch the first chapters of the Fast & Furious saga (movies that I love anyway), just take a look here. Vitt Performance is a Japanese tuner that has created a very extreme design, calling most of its creations “Squalo” (shark), and by the way, no other name has never been so spot on, because getting too close here might be a bad idea. The Mercedes SL, the classic and luxurious roadster with generous dimensions, is known for its simple style that despite a strong sporting character, is able to satisfy even those customers who want a look that does not scream how much money they have spent or how much power they have under the hood. That’s why this Shark Fire Pearl is completely contrary to the initial intentions of Mercedes. If the engine remains unchanged, and therefore 585hp and 900Nm for the 5.5 biturbo V8 of the SL63 AMG and 630hp and 1000Nm for the 6.0c V12 SL65 AMG, you certainly can’t say the same of the body kit, further emphasized by a bright red paint. Spoilers everywhere, muscular wheel arches that almost require two road lanes, new wheels and suspension hugging the ground: then, shake and repeat at least two more times and you will get one of the most extreme car that the human mind has ever behold. We know that in Japan there is a different taste for aesthetics, people love to make their cars unique and sometimes this thing is more important than other aspects, on which we Europeans instead aim more, as if to satisfy the eye of others, as much as we do for ours. It will not be a digestible product for all tastes, no doubt about that.
