Techart 718 Cayman S: The Faster The Better
The new 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman could have only four cylinders, but it is widely agreed that “the faster the better”. The two cylinders less than usual could be felt in terms of sound and if driving sensations are different from the old and beloved naturally aspirated 6-cylinder, the most powerful 2.5cc S versions offer performance that until a few years ago (not too many) would be prerogative of the older sister 911. Techart, as if to lime the enormous void that a stratospheric sports car like the Cayman GT4 has left in the hearts of all those who have failed to get their hands on, presented in Geneva its own version of the 718 Cayman S, with a completely new aero kit very close to that of the GT4 itself. It will be for the front spoiler or for that enormous rear wing, but if we were already loving the 718, now it has literally bewitched us.
In addition, talking about the 2.5cc (ditto for the Boxster S), the tuner has also prepared an upgrade in terms of performance that can bring the power up to 400 horses (+ 50hp) and make the 480Nm of torque available at just 2,800 rpm. Lower than 30mm and with huge 21-inch wheels, it requires 3.9 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 and can almost reach 300 kph. Do you still have prejudices about 4-cylinders now?
