The Bugatti That Stole The Show: The Divo
To present its latest creation to the world, Bugatti has chosen the most glamorous event of the car season, Pebble Beach. The Divo has literally stolen the scene to any other supercar or vintage masterpiece attending the Californian kermesse and has done that with a futuristic design perfectly ready for biting the road. The new Bugatti takes its name from the French driver Albert Divo, two times winner on Bugatti at the Targa Florio in the ’20s and represents an evolutionary step of the Chiron hypercar, which promises to keep the ballistic performances intact, but to combine them with a typical handling of a supercar that can be really exploited in the real world.
The beating heart of the Divo is the 8-liter W16 that delivers 1,479hp, but the company ensures that this special model is also made for curves. The body of the car is more generous than that of the Chiron and this not only for the aerodynamic appendages that increase downforce and figures like braking and cornering, there is a more accentuated camber that allows it to reach a maximum lateral force of 1.6 g, while the steering has been made more responsive and a handful of kilos were spared using new wheels and a special carbon fiber intercooler.
The Divo is something that goes beyond being a “simple” dream car, we are facing an engineering masterpiece perfectly combined with one of the most extreme looks ever seen on a production car, albeit limited to only 40 copies. The price of the latest Bugatti masterpiece is around € 5 million, but be aware that all of the 40 units predicted have already been sold.
