The “Monster” of the Paradise
MASERATI MOSTRO BY ZAGATO
Unveiled at this year’s Concours d’Elegance of Villa d’Este, this is the last creature designed by the pencil of Mister Zagato. Irreverent and certainly impossible to remain unnoticed, the “beautiful monstrosity” of today is a tribute to the 1957 Maserati 450 S, commissioned by Stirling Moss for the 24h of Le Mans and commonly called “Il Mostro – The Monster” for its frightening power. Tracing the lines of its predecessor, the new “Mostro” has that retro taste mixed with some modern dictates, a huge spoiler and a powerful V8 under the hood, faithful to a vehicle, desired, designed and created for the world of racing. 5 lucky and wealthy persons will be able to bring its granddaughter home. Hearing its roar on the shore of the lake, it was exciting. Turning its engine on a warm autumn morning would be properly mind blowing.
