The Renault Megane RS Trophy-R Is The Fastest FWD To Lap The Nürburgring

Lap records never sleep and for Renault Sport it is time to bring back the fastest front-wheel drive scepter of the Green Hell, with a time of 7’40’100 on the 20,600 km stretch of the Nordschleife (7’45’ 389 on the complete 20,832 km lap). The mission was accomplished by the new Megane RS Trophy-R, equipped with the same 300 hp engine as the Megane RS we already know, but with a lighter overall weight reduction of 130 kg and an aerodynamics decidedly dedicated to maximum performance.

This model, designed and realized in a very short time just like a competition car, will be put on the market by the end of the year and in a few hundred copies, making use of mechanical upgrades in partnership with Akrapovic, Brembo , Bridgestone, Ohlins and Sabelt.
