Thrasing Supercars Is The Best Way You Can Spend Your Weekends
June 12, 2016: the prey had to wake up earlier than usual, and you know why? The hunters were in town. The bad guys, those who are bad to the bone, the ones that take you on their side thanks to an amazing charisma and make you feel like one of the gang, those who gave life to the 2016’s main event signed SupercarSafari. After taking part in the Grand Prix at the Parco Valentino, Sunday was dedicated to that thing for which it is worth to wake up and, still a little ‘sleepy, have a cup of coffee more, fill up with petrol at the first available gas station (literally invaded by thirty supercars) and head towards some road we really care.
From Turin, down to Cuneo, Borgo San Dalmazzo, Limone and then over the Col di Tenda. And then the incomparable views of the rocky Val Roia, always ready to act as a sounding board to the V8s, V10s and V12s chasing each other, interspersed with some furious Porsche and a couple of Lotus, which on these roads know how to defend themselves without any problem. For those about to drive (what else do you want from a car event?), this is our theme here, and so we arrived in Ventimiglia, before reaching our final destination, Imperia, to park in no particular order all the cars, and enjoy a delicious lunch two meters from the sea.
And the gang? The gang had fun, making a dreadful mess on our way down, while new friendships are born, giving us an appointment to the following events (Supercarsafari is joining in forces our Col de Turini Tour taking place on July, 3rd), but I will not reveal anything more. Wait patiently for the next issue of Auto Class to know why, on Sunday 12th, some towns have woken up with a different alarm clock than usual. We were there and like we do, not as mere spectators only ready to tell you an adventure, but with a steering wheel in hands and the desire to share all this epic atmosphere with these bad boys and so being able to tell you for real what it takes to be this kind of hunter.
