It was 1984 and Japanese astonished the world with their first mid-engine rear wheel drive coupe that, thanks to a discreet cavalry and its low weight, guaranteed fun and that look, so different from the typical everyday cars. But one of the factors that triggered the success of the first series of the Toyota MR2 (Midship Runabout 2) was represented by its price, it was easily accessible to all. The reliability of this Japanese product, innovative but mature, were then the outline to a deserved success and sees, in those few specimens of MR2 W10, yet stock and in good condition, a real piece of history for fans of the genre. The 4-cylinder 1.6, placed immediately behind the seats, was powerful at the right point: 122 horses able to make the small Toyota snappy in any situation, but never dangerous or too demanding for less experienced drivers. Subsequently, it was also introduced a supercharged version with about 145 hp, but it was not released in Europe (only some models, were imported later). Today, with a negligible expense, as long as you find one, you can get in the garage this little coupe, which will be able to entertain you, bringing you thirty years back in time.
