Transformers | Cinema
Science fiction, action, adventure and cars that transform into giant robots. All this stuffs is elevated to top levels in the film adaptation of the animated/manga series of the same name that debuted in the 80s. From director Michael Bay we can expect nothing more than an excellent product perfectly in line with the most classic canons of American blockbusters, a story that unites the two human protagonists (Shia Labeouf and Megan Fox) and puts them in the middle of over two hours of thrilling action in which the goal is to save the world from the evil Decepticons. Autobots will obviously come for help with great courage and “humanity” ready to make the utmost sacrifice in order to save our planet.
TITLE: Transformers
YEAR: 2007
DIRECTED BY: Michael Bay
LENGHT: 2h 24 min
GENRE: fantastic, action
The whole Transformers saga is not exactly focused on cars as we usually intend them, but nevertheless perfectly manages to combine the world of robots with the more traditional one of land transports such as trucks, airplanes, helicopters and of course cars. Among the protagonists it is impossible not to cheer for Bumblebee, which initially arrives under the rusty metal sheets of a ’77 Chevrolet Camaro, and then transforms into the new and flamboyant 2007 model (which at the time of the release of the movie had never been seen on the road yet). The imprint with Bumblebee is immediate, while the Peterbilt 379 (Optimus Prime) and the ferocious Saleen S281 Extreme (Barricade) deserve an honorable mention. Nice to see the Austin Healey 3000 owned by the father of the young protagonist, among other things willing to do anything to buy his first car. From here to the struggle for humanity, the step is short. In the following chapters, always catalyzing the attention on long and spectacular battles, there is also space for other models such as Ferrari 458 Italia, Bugatti Veyron, Corvette, Pagani Huayra and obviously for a film entirely dedicated to the iconic Bumblebee.
