Unconventional Trio
Braving the good fortune and the adverse weather forecast, on Friday, March 4th we ended up with some SupercarSafari’s friends in Porto Venere, for an exclusive photo shoot with their English ladies, along with our friend and great photographer Matteo Ravelli (you will see the his great photos in the magazine, in less than a week). There could not be a more unique combo, not only in terms of cars, where we gathered Andrea’s F-Type, Emanuele’s ‘96 Lotus Esprit S4 and Sauro’s angry XKR-S, our friend since our last climb on the Col de Turini, but for the fact that the three persons in question are, like their cars, apparently poles apart. And so, between some shots in the spectacular Ligurian port and a pleasant drive on the coast road above Riomaggiore, we spent a day with authentic enthusiasts who live their relationship with their car, each one in a very peculiar way, sharing all together those feelings that make a trip at the steering wheel of an English car so special. I know it, there’s always that kind of human relationship, deeper with the Lotus in this case, if you compare that with the modern and highly efficient Jaguars here, but they all, without exception, convey emotions and chills down your spine. They are not limited to satisfy one or the other thing, but can do them all, pleasing your eyes, your ears and especially the desire to press on the throttle, and set fire to the powder.
Each of these guys has its own approach and each has a beautiful series of stories to tell, but simply observing them, you can notice as the elegance and style of Andrea, who took the opportunity to introduce some of his fantastic products branded “The Outlierman” (more about this shortly, ed), go to counter the belligerent and tires-raper spirit of Sauro, who sees every corner as the opportunity to wake up the needle of the rev counter with the electric shock. Emanuele, on the other hand, likes to step into the shoes of Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, with the turbo of his Esprit that dictates the transformation from a gentleman to an outlaw.
In less than a week time, on the pages of Auto Class, you can read the complete review, and I am sure that once you’ll close the magazine, you will want to get an English car in your garage too.
