VAL D’ORCIA
VAL D’ORCIA
Val d’Orcia is not a postcard, it is much more. Those plains of a thousand shades of green that during autumn turn yellow and orange are world famous and deserved UNESCO heritage, but the experience in this area south of Siena is something inebriating, thanks also to the scents of the unspoiled nature yet incredibly flourishing, not to forget the delicious local food and wine which represent a further mandatory stop if you have decided to take the long tour we suggest.
Location: Tuscany, Italy
Type: hill road
The area is one of the most important tourist destinations in Italy, so much so that over the years it has enjoyed the attention of important movies productions, not to mention the fact that it plays a role of great artistic and cultural relevance and that is able to awaken sensations that only such a natural spectacle is able to do.
Among the main elements of this route we find Montalcino, San Quirico d’Orcia, Montepulciano and Chianciano, but after taking the most out of this landscape envied by the whole world and that in the immaculate beauty of meadows, trees and timid paths surrounded by rows of trees meticulously next to each other, we head towards Monte Amiata, one of the main mountain groups of volcanic origin in the Tuscan Apennines.
