VERONA LEGEND CARS 2018: VINTAGE CARS, RALLIES AND RACING
1,300 vintage cars on sale; live club and registers rallies; two races on the exhibition’s own 1km circuit. These are the three souls of a dynamic and exciting show, capable of addressing old-timer enthusiast and unveiling the emotions of classic cars to a younger audience.
A dynamic and exciting vintage car show: Verona Legend Cars takes place in the art city of Verona between 4th and 6th May 2018, just a few kilometres from the famous Lake Garda. Showcasing 1,300 splendid classic cars, with live participation by dozens of Clubs and Registers and a race track open both to rally champions and historic and modern rally aficionados.
Verona Legend Cars boasts a unique formula, which is suitable for all ages: Heritage fans will find the best specialist dealers there; the new generations and car lovers will get the chance to discover all the energy and passion packed into the world of classic cars.
The three souls of Verona Legend Cars are: a growing, top-level vintage car market with over 1,300 classic cars. Secondly, live rallies with Alfa Romeo, Audi, Mercedes, Lancia, BMW and Fiat models driven directly by collectors inside the fair. Finally, yet importantly, Verona Legend Cars hosts two racing events: The new Verona Legend Cars Trophy and “La Sfida dei Campioni” (The Champions’ Challenge), respectively on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th.

CLASSIC MARKET. The number of dealers is increasing on a year-to-year basis. Among vehicles a great number of Ferrari with Testarossa, Mondial, 308,348,355,360; numerous Porsche with 911, 912, 914, 944 and 928 models and Alfa Romeo Giulia, Giulia GT e Spider. The first Range Rover series will be on sale too, alongside the most popular models that represent the opportunity for younger fans to enter the world of collecting: Volkswagen Beetle cabrio, Fiat 500, Fiat 600, Mini Morris and the elegant Lancia Fulvia and Fulvia Coupé. Classic car restorers are present too, among them two specialised in Mercedes vintage cars. In Verona Legend Cars, therefore, you can meet both the rarest models and the cars that accompanied today’s adults on their first day of school.
Verona Legend Cars will display, also, a huge selection of products dedicated to collectors, original components and spare parts for vintage cars, accessories such as original tool bags for the Porsche 356, user handbooks and an extensive array of products for the care and maintenance of vehicles. Well represented the world of Vespa restoration, items such car rims, starter keys and vintage modelling.
CLUB AND HISTORICAL REGISTERS In honour of the sports spirit of the Verona trade fair, the Italian Fiat Register is going to showcase a Ritmo Abarth (formerly used in an official race) and a 850 coupé Abarth. The Lancia Club Italia, which combines stands and gatherings, is going to exhibit a legendary granturismo: the Aurelia B20, winner of many competitions. Next to the Aurelia will be one of the most beautiful vehicles ever designed by Pininfarina: an Aurelia B24. To celebrate 40 years of Ritmo in style, the Ritmo Fiat National Register is exhibiting its very first model, a 60 CL 1978, followed by a 1st series Ritmo Abarth 125 and 1st series Ritmo Super 75. Outside the indoor exhibition space, there will be a gathering of Ritmos representing the history of this model: the eight 1st series models and the nine 2nd series models. An exhibition of the Veteran Car Club Legnago will showcase the styles and evolution of luxury and sportsmanship in the USA and Italy with a 1977 Lincoln Continental Mark V and a 1965 Fiat 2300 Lusso. Next to these, there will be a 1966 Mustang Convertible and a 1.3 2nd series Lancia Fulvia Coupe’. The Historic Jaguar Team is also celebrating a milestone anniversary with 50 years of Jaguar XJ and 70 years of XK 120; for the occasion, it is bringing a wide selection of Jaguars to the fair. Merging landscape and heritage, the Castelfranco Veneto 500s Club is bringing a commemorative Fiat 500 dedicated to the lands of the Great War. In Verona, there will be, furthermore, a series of live gatherings of Alfa Romeo, Audi, Mercedes, Lancia, Bmw and Fiat models driven by collectors and members of the Clubs and Registers inside the fair.
RACING Verona Legend Cars is confirmed to be the Heritage and sporting passion show. On a circuit over 1 km long, two racing events are on schedule. The unprecedented Verona Legend Cars Trophy makes its début on 5th May – open to racing cars of all types, both historic and modern, according to the Aci Sport sporting regulations in force for Formula Challenge, also including classic racing cars. Racers will compete on the circuit depending on the year of registration and displacement of the vehicle. The top 12 performing cars will take part in the final, which will be held on Abarth 124. The prize up for grabs for the winner is an Abarth 595 for free use for 365 days.
On Sunday 6th, instead, legendary rallying pilots will return to the circuit to showcase their talent in front of thousands of fans. The 2dn Champions’ Challenge (La Sfida dei Campioni) will take place on the same racing track set up and managed by Aci Verona in partnership with ACI Storico.
Two-time World Champion Miki Biasion, 1987 N Group World Champion Alex Florio and the unforgettable “Maximum Attack” Markku Alén, one of the best-loved rally champions, have all confirmed their attendance. They wll race in front of the fans on both legendary rally cars and contemporary Abarth 124s.
The merger of all these souls makes Verona Legend Cars a unique event for all car lovers and motorsports enthusiasts. It is a meeting place for classic car fans and a venue to discover all the beauty and thrills bursting from the world of vintage cars.
