Ferrari 12Cilindri | News
It’s a great time for driving. The reason? A new Ferrari has just been unveiled, or rather two. It’s called 12Cilindri and although the name may seem like something straight out of the new chapter of the Grand Theft Auto saga, it is the heir to the glorious 812 Superfast. A name which, however, leaves no room for doubt this time either and where the fulcrum of the argument is obviously an engine whose primary objective is driving involvement. Naturally aspirated V12 and 830 horsepower of maximum power, the 12Cilindri is a coupe that uses the most recent stylistic features of the Prancing Horse on a GT line with a front engine, while at the same time paying a clear homage to an icon of the past such as the 1968 365 GTB Daytona.
This is the new chapter for the Centro Stile led by Flavio Manzoni, who once again is not afraid to dare and introduce cutting-edge stylistic solutions which mark a clear step forward compared to what has been seen so far. But with a name like that it’s easy to imagine that everything is obviously aimed at driving and the purity of an experience that sees the V12 screaming up to the infinite threshold of 9,500 rpm. Then there are 678 Nm of torque unloaded to the rear wheels via an 8-speed dual clutch borrowed from the SF90 Stradale hypercar, all to ensure a 0-100 kph in just 2.9 seconds, a 0-200 kph of 7.9 seconds and a top speed of over 340 per hour.
Very powerful, but it promises not to terrify the driver at the first corner, thanks for example to the help of the ATS (Aspirated Torque Shaping), an electronic software that manages the delivery of maximum torque based on the gear in use. Then there is an evolution of the Side Slip Control and a weight balance that will manage to make the driving experience visceral, or relaxing as you would expect from a versatile grand tourer of this caliber. The 12Cilindri also has a lot of technology in the cabin, with a large 15.6″ digital display and steering wheel with touch buttons. In the center we find a second display intended for the multimedia system, while the trunk will be large enough for a trip out of town without giving up an extra bag. Arriving soon with a Spider version with prices starting from €395,000.
