“Lotus were not enough, Caterham are fun, but I was looking for something that does not intimidate even nearby the most powerful supercars. I was looking for something wildly arrogant and so I found the Ultima GTR. My very car is a 2011 model, but I only bought it in 2013; from that day on my life has changed. I began to attend any type of track day, but also driving tours and dynamic events, where parading among Ferrari and Porsche, my little black beast could catch more eyes than any other car. And then all the questions of all kinds, incessant one after the other, just like the gears that you shot when you’re on track, rewriting the rules of sports driving that you’ve learned during the BMW’s courses. You drive the Ultima with the lower back, feeling the slightest imperfection of the tarmac and every mistake you do in equal manner, something that with any other car is pure science fiction. The deafening noise of the V8 is indescribable, discomfort becomes vital because after a few laps you become one with the chassis and the wheels. And its 345 horses (and 467Nm) scream to all the others to give way, because you’re not there for tourist driving. Racing suite, gloves, helmet and Hans: you do not need anything else. Of course, I also use it on road, but consistently less than before, because having a 900kg weapon with a powerful 8 cylinder behind your back and the ability to reach 250 per hour (even more, with a few simple tricks) will entice you to drive like an outlaw and since the driving license is only one, best to do this where the only limits are those of your own skills.”
