Of Love and Track
“Why do I love the MX-5? Simply because driving it, you can’t but fall in love!” A few words, but enough to understand the feeling that binds all owners of the world’s best selling roadster. Regardless of the year and the version, what matters is the fun behind the wheel, aspect that few spiders still manage to give. Emanuele, in fact, tells us that the most striking side of the small almond-eyed spider is that “while driving, it seems to be sewn on the driver, sending unique feedbacks already from the first time”. Emanuele’s beloved spider is a very elegant third series MX-5, the one that fans identified with the initials NC. 7 years of life and modifications. Yes, because in contrast to its elegant dress (Emanuele’s MX-5 is midnight blue metallic with biscuit leather interior) of the most comfortable RC version (the Roadster Coupe, equipped with a comfortable and convenient retractable hardtop), this MX-5, as well as being the most powerful version with its 2,000 and 160 hp, was modified with a markedly racing spirit by its owner: adjustable sports suspension, more generous 235/40 R17 tires, more performance brake system and a sport exhaust, in short, a car almost ready for the track. And in fact, Emanuele does not hide the desire to vent his passion for his MX-5 and speed on a track, so that they can fully appreciate the spirit racy spirit of his Japanese spider. It is just like having an MX-5 with a double personality: a stylish color combinations made of comfort thanks to the hard top with the possibility to use it as a second car for the city, and a sportier side made by a more powerful engine and targeted technical upgrades to be exploited, perhaps, at some track day. Emanuele says goodbye stating: “I would change it with no other spider of the category …”
